More than 400 guests gathered on January 5, 2012 at the incomparable Taglyan Center to support the Friends of the Hollywood Central Park’s third annual For Love of Hollywood Gala. Los Angeles booster and FHCP supporter Council Member Tom LaBonge hosted the spectacular evening and kept the audience amused with Hollywood anecdotes and personal stories. Co-Chairs John Goodwin and Scott Rynders presided over a fun-packed evening featuring entertainment by the multi-talented Jim Meskimen’s Jimpressions. Paying tribute to the men and women who make extraordinary contributions to the creation of the Hollywood Central Park, The Real Stars of Hollywood Awards, were presented to Mayor Antonio Villaraigosa, actress and environmentalist Daryl Hannah, General Manger of LA Recreation and Parks, Jon Kirk Mukri and Bureau of Engineering’s City Engineer, Gary Lee Moore for their outstanding leadership and unwavering commitment to the Park.

Passionate remarks were offered by Chairman Phil Aarons, speaking on behalf of the FHCP Board, who detailed the extraordinary progress made by the organization. Park champion Council Member Eric Garcetti recommitted to funding the Park’s EIR and Congressman Adam Schiff, a dedicated Park leader, spoke to the upcoming DC Advocacy trip and meetings scheduled with Secretary of Transportation Ray LaHood and the White House administration.
